Blackroots Science Volume 1 - Modimoncho

A reminder to Black people who have forgotten their glorious heritage. Authored by a Tswana tribal historian, Blackroots Science Volume 1 delves into the intricate connection between African spirituality, science, and ancient wisdom. This enlightening text explores how traditional African knowledge systems provide a holistic understanding of the universe, encompassing cosmology, biology, and metaphysics. Modimoncho argues for the recognition and preservation of African spiritual practices and wisdom as essential components of global scientific discourse. Through a blend of historical analysis and philosophical insights, the book challenges conventional Western perspectives and promotes a reclamation of African heritage in the realm of science and spirituality.

Blackroots Science Volume 2 - Modimoncho

Blackroots Science Volume 2 delves deeper into the interconnectedness of African spiritual traditions, science, and cosmology. Building upon Volume 1, the sequel explores the intricate relationships between ancient African knowledge systems and modern scientific principles, highlighting the contributions of African civilizations to astronomy, mathematics, and medicine. The author argues for a holistic understanding of science that integrates spiritual wisdom and indigenous knowledge, challenging conventional Western paradigms. The book serves as a bridge between ancient African wisdom and contemporary scientific thought, inviting readers to reconsider the roots and evolution of human understanding while offering a rich tapestry of insights into the African worldview.

Of Water And The Spirit - Malidoma Some

Another masterpiece authored by an African Initiate. Of Water and the Spirit is a profound autobiographical account that chronicles the author’s journey from his traditional Dagara village in Burkina Faso to his education in Western society and subsequent return to his roots. The elder recounts his initiation into the Dagara tribe’s spiritual practices and the challenges he faced bridging the gap between his indigenous culture and the modern world. Through vivid storytelling, he explores themes of identity, belonging, and the spiritual dimensions of African traditions, offering deep insights into the clash of cultures and the transformative power of reconnecting with one’s heritage.

This is a great book for people who know that this kind of initiation awaits them. It’ll quench their thirst of what goes on during the initiation of an African Shaman/Griot, which is different and way more intense and demanding as compared to the initiation of a Sangoma/Ngaka, which is the highest level of initiation that the general public is exposed to.

Indaba, My Children - Credo Mutwa

A collection of African folklore and traditional tales retold through the perspective of a wise and experienced griot. UMkhulu Vusamazulu, a renowned South African traditional healer and storyteller, gathers myths, legends, and moral teachings passed down through generations of African cultures. Through vivid storytelling, he shares the wisdom, values, and spiritual beliefs of various African tribes, offering readers a glimpse into the richness and diversity of African oral traditions. The book not only entertains with its magical and sometimes mystical narratives but also serves to preserve and celebrate Africa’s cultural heritage.

The Kybalion - Three Initiates

The Kybalion is a seminal work of esoteric philosophy which explores the principles of Hermeticism, an ancient spiritual and philosophical tradition. It elucidates seven Hermetic principles: Mentalism (the universe is mental), Correspondence (as above, so below), Vibration (everything is in constant motion), Polarity (everything has its opposite), Rhythm (everything flows in and out), Cause and Effect (every action has a consequence), and Gender (gender manifests in everything). The book emphasizes the power of the mind, the interconnectedness of all things, and the idea that understanding these principles enables individuals to better navigate and influence their lives and the cosmos.

How To Eat To Live Book 1 - Elijah Muhammad

How to Eat to Live Book 1 advocates for a disciplined, health-conscious diet rooted in spiritual and physical well-being. He teaches that proper eating habits are essential for longevity and mental clarity, emphasizing the consumption of natural, simple foods while avoiding processed and harmful substances. Muhammad recommends eating once a day or even once every two days to allow the body to heal, and he strongly discourages pork, shellfish, and unhealthy meats. Instead, he promotes whole grains, fresh vegetables, navy beans, and pure water, viewing these dietary practices as divinely ordained for maintaining a strong body and mind. His guidance is framed within the Nation of Islam’s teachings, positioning food as a tool for self-mastery and spiritual elevation.

How To Eat To Live Book 2 - Elijah Muhammad

How to Eat to Live, Book 2 expands on the principles from the first book, reinforcing the idea that proper diet is key to health, longevity, and spiritual well-being. He further emphasizes the dangers of modern food processing, chemicals, and overeating, warning against the consumption of non-permissible meats and artificial ingredients. Muhammad continues to advocate for eating once a day or less, highlighting the benefits of fasting for bodily purification. He also discusses the role of proper cooking methods, the importance of clean water, and the spiritual significance of dietary discipline. The book serves as both a practical guide and a moral directive, urging followers to adopt divine eating habits for a longer, healthier life.
